Thinking of you lots today Alfie, it’s coming up to your 10th birthday, just thinking of how much of a brilliant big brother you would have been to your newest sibling, Oscar, he’s only little but he’s already met you once. It was Taylor's 3rd Birthday yesterday, she was so excited with her presents, so many Minnie Mouse gifts. We took some Jubilee flowers and flag up to your field the day before, Taylor had a flag too. My how the grass has grown, we pulled it all out by hand and found all the little primroses again and Taylor had a game with your ball. Miss you sweetheart. Love forever Nanny xx

It's Nanny's birthday today Alfie, mummy sent me a video of Taylor singing happy birthday, it was very, funny she sandgNanny Jaqui instead of Nanny Seaside and she wouldn't tell me she loved me 'cause she said I wasn't there. It's Christmas eve and you're not here Alfie, I still feel very numb to the whole thing, I'm missing you so so much especially at this time, as you should be here with your family. First Christmas without you is bound to be hard, I just want to block the whole thing out, but I can't as we have your beautiful big sister to celebrate it with. She's missing you too I think, and she keeps telling me 'it's alright mummy, Alfie's at the church!' She's an angel! And she was an angel in her first nativity play the other day, you would have loved watching her prancing about on stage! Just thought I'd let you know, on the day you were born Spurs beat Wolves 2-0 and Adebayor scored on his debut, but then you knew that already because you can see it everyday written in your crib. Since the worse day in my life, we've gone unbeaten in the league, taking 25 points from a possible 27. We look unstoppable at the minute and I hope it continues all the way till Christmas, that would be the best present I could receive. I knew you would have been a follower like your old man....I'm only sorry we'll never get to watch a game together! Love you so much. x

To my Darling Grandson, Alfie I was so happy Alfie when we all found out that you had been created in that most secret place. I was so very happy Alfie that I got to speak to you and to place my hand on your mummy's tummy and feel you move. Do you remember I used to tell you how I loved you and that I wanted you to know my voice... I was broken-hearted when I was told you had fallen into that deepest of sleeps. Yet, I was overjoyed and so very privileged to be there when you were born, and to see the first glimpse of the very sweet face that was chosen for you. Overwhelmed, to be able to gaze with love at that beauty, overjoyed yet broken-hearted to see the love and pride on your mummy and daddy's face as they beheld that same beauty. I longed to hold you and will continue to long for the day when I can at last hold you, maybe it will be you who holds me? From the moment I knew your name, I would find pebbles on the beach with your initial on, and I would practise saying your name out loud when no-one else could hear me. Since you left it seems every other pebble on the beach has your name on it, I have a constant reminder of you whenever I go for a stroll....Alfie, it is true how beautifully your name carries on the wind. I often go and sit in your field and have the most wonderful time making beautiful flowers for you. Sometimes your family goes to visit in little groups, sometimes alone, sometimes in the daytime and sometimes when it's quite dark. I often wonder if God allows you to have a little peek at us sometimes when we are visiting there, if He does you will have no doubts about how very much we all love you...Often it is very hard to leave, and sometimes I feel a gentle breeze on my face, almost like butterfly wings. To my nephew, Alfie We always knew you would be a very Special little boy, we just never knew ‘how’ Special! Your coming into, and leaving of this world as we know it, was many things Alfie. It was immensely sad and remarkably moving, and yet so much good has been borne from you… I am so privileged to have seen you and kissed you, and to spend that very precious time with you and your mummy and daddy. I will never forget how I felt that night of 10th September 2011. I fell in love with you and all of our wonderful family so completely. I take comfort that I know you are in a wonderful place with our God. That you are in a place where there is only joy, no suffering, no illness, no pain and no mourning. That if you can’t be here with us, you are in the next best place! Your mum and dad are amazing people, anyway you know that. You knew them and you are in them, and they are in you. They are an inspiration to everyone around them, you would be so proud of them, as we are. Your sister Taylor is beautiful and funny and kind and clever. She is such a ray of sunshine and brings many smiles to all our faces. We will make sure she knows all about you as she grows up.
